We welcome to Skate For the Cure the Bridgeport Bluefish organization as a participating sponsor in this years' event.

More than 20 million Americans have diabetes.  This represents 7% of the US population. Three million people have juvenile diabetes/Type 1, the most severe form of the disease. This horrible disease kills one American every 3 minutes and a new case is diagnosed every 30 seconds. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the front runner in the search for a cure, a very worthy recipient of the funds we are trying to raise.  Each year, more than 30,000 new cases of juvenile diabetes are diagnosed – a large and growing percentage of them children.  These children fight to have a future which they know could include blindness, amputation and diabetic comas.
